WYGY WSWD

Now I know at the time of the move, the thinking behind this was to protect WUBE by moving their own country station to the much stronger 94.9 signal, thus locking up the country audience.

But when The Sound was on 94.9, they were pulling over a 3 share in 12+ and I have imagine the demo numbers looked quite good.
Now, on the weaker 97.3 signal, they sit at a sad 1.9, and have been trending down ever since November.
Meanwhile, 94.9 has barely moved up, going from a 1.2 to a 1.7

Was this such a smart move after all?? The Sound seemed to be doing just fine, and now it's in trouble.
Is it a change in musical direction on The Sound also to blame? I know they had a PD change. I personally enjoy the station online (I'm not in the market), alot of variety and good music!

The Sound lost nearly half of there audience do to a weak signal. Alot of people in Dayton listened to 949 which was a big boost for them. Now that country is on 949, they do not have much of a Dayton audience at all due to K99.

Mustardz are you serious?  Dayton listening was a boost for The Sound?  They had less than a 1.0 share at any time in Dayton and they didn't care.  The WOLF is such a waste.  A flanker on a signal that's better than the main station.  The move to Taylor Mill wasn't done because in Ohio there wasn't really much of an improvement.  Look at the Radio-Locator maps.  The improvement was all in Kentucky, and not in very populated areas.

WYGY had a pretty good run when it was 96.5 in the late 90's. There were a couple books when they were within a share of B105. Any thoughts on what was going on?
