WYHM (former WOFE)

WYHM has a CP to go to 5kw days, the CP is set to expire in Mid December. Does it look like it might get built out or just expire?

On another note WECO in Wartburg had a CP to move it's tower closer to Harriman and increase it signal but had that CP cancelled. Why would you go through the time and expense for the engineering study and then have it cancelled?

IMHO one of three reasons.

#1. They could not get the financing or they lost their antenna site.

#2 They are or are about to sold and the new owner is not interested in moving the station.

#3 Somebody some place close (a couple of hundred miles) needs that "space" for their "move" or power increase and came up with some $$$ if WECO let the CP go.

Then what is it?

Sorry, but your desire for an answer does not trump my desire to honor confidentialty.

Your 3 options were each a bit disparaging toward WECO and I just wanted to let you know that there was another option......the real one.....that's not disparaging at all.

I did not mean to be "disparaging". The rate of return on investment most AM stations makes any "expense" tricky. Engineering and filing can be expensive. I have worked at stations that were in all three of my guess. I forgot #4 an FM translator. I respect your desire to "honor confidentiality".

BTW #3 can be a very good thing for the bank account.

It's the FM that had the CP for the move not the AM. Yes AM is quite an expensive move. They could put a translator on the AM since it has separate programming.
