WYKC/Grenada

After being off-air for over 10-years, the Commission has finally cancelled the license of WYKC/1400 in Grenada. It was apparently done at the licensee's request. Renewals for Mississippi stations were due February 1 and you now have to certify that the station is on-air and adhering to the minimum operating schedule, or explain why not.

Sad to see another station's license deleted, but they certainly weren't doing anything with it; AM in that part of the state was deader than a doorknob except for fringe signals from Greenwood, Clarksdale and Memphis. When I moved out WONA-AM was off (and had never been on in the four years I was there) and 1540 in Greenwood was silent with an STA. Then there were the Cleveland stations that were MIA…
