WYLS 670 AM In York Alabama Has Changed Its Format

What was their previous format? I thought they were already carrying blues or R&B. Speaking of, wasn't WYLS AM Classic Country or Bluegrass Gospel back about 6 or 7 years ago?

P.S. Yes they were Classic Country, Oldies, Bluegrass and Black Gospel all mixed into one station. This was back in the early 2000s.
 
Back in the late 90s to around the beginning of the 2000s this station had a classic music for st that played the pop hits of the 40s- early 80s. You would hear artists such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Barbara Striesland, Andrews Sisters, Ames Brothers, soft pop hits from 70s and 80s. It was a clear channel station and could be heard in Pensacola, Florida during the daytime.
 
We haven't changed format here at WYLS, we simply have a Saturday Blues Show, we are still Gospel otherwise. WYLS signed on in 1970 at 1350 AM, we moved to 670 AM in 1988 and that greatly increased our coverage with the same power. WSLY FM is ESPN Radio with local shows/play by play mixed in.
