WYOU Sans News - One Year Later

It was about a year ago that CBS affiliate WYOU disbanded their local news operation. The Scranton Times-Tribune has done a follow-up with former news staffers on the anniversary of the station's final newscast.

They also quoted Dennis Thatcher, chief operating officer of WYOU-TV's owner, who admitted that pulling the newscast was a difficult decision.

"We have tried everything. We have changed formats, we've changed the set, changed talent ... and we've spent about $1 million a year on 'WYOU News' and nothing has worked..."

How long before the same comments are being made expect the call letters have changed to WBRE?
