Was listening to WYSL on the way into work and heard an announcement that they were now at 20,000 watts.

The station has been operating at 20kw for the past few weeks now. Nice transmitter by the way.

So then, with the stronger signal on 1040, where will I first be able to pick up the station between Toronto and Rochester?

Buffalo?
Just outside Buffalo?
Before or after I pass through Buffalo?

Judging by the contour generated at radio-locator, there's a null to the WNW of the transmitter.

Their calculations suggest that reception becomes reasonably reliable as one approaches the Transit Rd (NY 78) neighborhood if one is on the Thruway. If one is heading east via Rt. 104, it appears reception doesn't improve until one crosses into Orleans or Genesee counties.

It would appear that reception in Kingston, Ontario ought to be pretty good.
