From WYSL's Web Page, written by CEO Bob Savage.

The Associated Press is closing down its ten-year old service "All News Radio" today July 15th; WYSL 1040 has been an affiliate since 1999. The News Station will replace AP live news content with ABC Radio Network, CNN, the Wall Street Journal Radio Network, plus additional local and regional content from News 10 NBC, Empire Radio in Albany and Rochester's Metro Source. WYSL President and GM Bob Savage said, "it has been our pleasure to have had a superb service like AP-ANR. It's enabled us to provide outstanding coverage on Upstate New York's only all-news station. We think of the great news talent at AP-ANR who have daily appeared on our station, almost as family - and want to thank Rita Foley, Lisa Meyer, Ross Simpson, my former CKLW colleague Jon Belmont, Steve Knight, Tim McGuire, Ed Donohue, Jackie Quinn, Carlotta Bradley, Robin Walensky, Margie Zaroletta, and sports anchors Dave Lubetsky, Jim Militello, John Anthony, Mike Rossia, Jack Briggs and the many reporters and producers for six terrific years. Special thanks also to Warren Levinson in New York and fellow Ithaca College alum, and AP Washington chief Ed Tobias. We wish you all the best." WYSL will phase other programming in throughout Friday July 15th.
