WYSP ADDS LOVELINE, 5AM KIDD CHRIS HOUR

Kidd Chris just said that WYSP will begin to carry Loveline starting tonight, and tomorrow at 5am a "Kidd Chris Rewind" hour will begin.

In my opinion, its awful that rock music is disappearing from our airwaves, but I think that if WYSP wants to do this talk thing, they need to go all out and not have a half-assed rock product.

also, upon looking at WYSP's website, they've apparrently added THE JOHN AND JEFF SHOW. Didn't hear an on-air mention of them but i guess WYSP no longer "rocks" nights as of today.

CBS RADIO Talk WYSP (FREE FM 94.1)/PHILADELPHIA adds the syndicated "LOVELINE" to 11p-2a and the "JOHN & JEFF SHOW" to 2-5a weekdays. Additionally, the "KIDD CHRIS REWIND" has been added to each weekday morning from 5-6a as an hour of "best-of" material from the day before on CHRIS' afternoon drive show.

Didn't Y100 have loveline (around 95-96) for a few weeks, but dropped it due to complaints? I remember watching the news one night, and they showed a guy outside y100, wearing a y100 hardhat cutting the line, but I'm not postive if it was loveline or something else.

As for Ron and Fez... they've never been in Philly. If the Free-FM show is syndicated, it would hit DC or Florida first.

I heard ONA promos during Kidd Chris and YSP is pumping the hell out of the Virus tour, so i really doubt anything is happening to them.

And yes, them going to FLA or DC first would make sense. Hopefully the idea will be shopped around. Listening online will have to suffice.

Loveline will be on tape from the previous day (it airs 1a-3a ET live), but at least John and Jeff will be live. That makes sense.

I wonder why KLSX in LA isn't running O&A live from 3a-6a PT. What else do they have to run in the overnights? I wonder why CBS doesn't coordinate the Free-FMs so that, when it's drive time on one coast, the other coast has a drive-time caliber show to run in its off hour.

Ron and Fez would only have to tweak the New York locality down slightly, their humor could surely cross-over to a Philly audience. They went 2+ years on XM of no local specific programming. And um....frankly if I lived in Philly, I'd rather listen to Ron and Fez talk about N ew York than Kidd Chris...Jesus.

But, then again, 6 months from now WYSP will once again be running promos full of screaming, shirtless, beer-bellied guys yelling, "YEAAAH!!!! Da rock is back on Ny-Foooor Dubya-Y-S-P!!!"

The speculation is YSP returning to Rock by the Fall, BUT, what if some other station flips to Active come Memorial Day (hint), YSP is S out of luck....what else can they do, cause their current talk format is destroying them. You have to admit, the Rock audiance is ripe for the picking and plenty of money can be made, someone has to satisfy this large, lucrative audiance, soon, and without the Eagles interrupting the music flow, its a win, win situation for another station to do it.
