Probably not, that can sort of be considered talk also. I'm not sure the length of the contract that the Eagles signed with 94 and Infinity though.

It would seem that football is part of the Free FM strategy in the long term as other Free FM stations (Baltimore and Washington, DC for examples) have strong ties with their local team.

Plus it just plain fits the demo.

Could be just the beginning of the end. From what I hear, Bigby can't stand sports, and also can't stand some of the current announcers on WYSP.

It's odd to say Bigby can't stand sports...but yet he was the program director or a sports talk station (or what's supposed to be sports talk) for so many years! But there were certain topics he wouldn't allow to be discussed on WIP, such as horse racing, golf, and Nascar...just to a name a few. If a listener called and wanted to talk about Nascar, the host would let them say their piece, and the host would hang up on them, and move on quickly. And yes, I have heard this done before too.

Barsky says on air that Eagles will stay on air

Barsky said to a caller that the Eagles are staying on 94.1. With contracts, you'd have to expect this to be the case for this season anyway. The only viable alternatives I see would be to put them on 610 or 1210, the other Infinity Stations. Would help them keep listeners before and after a game. However, 94.1 fits that plan as well.
