Blaine,

Ironically, I am probably the one that airchecked that one you are holding. If so it runs from 5:30p-7:00pm. 1st song should be "Morning After" by Maureen McGovern (yipes!). Terry Jacks "Seasons In The Sun", Pratt & McClane "Happy Days" Love it! Songs you won't hear on traditional FM radio.

From what I recall........what prompted me to airchek him in the 1st Place, (too bad I did not roll tape to catch this) he played "Easy Come Easy Go" by late 60's Teen Idol now LA Officer Bobby Sherman, TWICE in a row. He basically said, such a good tune and you will never hear it again, so here it is a second time! =)

Too bad WYSY was not that wide on their playlist. It was the final days when the playlists got dumped and DJ's played as they saw fit.

Back to Bob. Bob was cool on air. He was a PT jock at WYSY. And he was on the former WCFL-FM in Morris when they were doing Oldies as 60's/70's after the classic WCFL AM 1000.

Hope that helps!

Sounds similar to WGLB Port Washington, WI before they got sold to Relevant. I can't remember all that much about WYSY as the signal wasn't the best in Zion but I do have memories of the jingle package and a DJ talking about wanting to throwing the equipment out the window. Then there was the last days before SBS took over which I remember being realy rock heavy.

Exactly opposite. They were mainstream pop when they debuted, classic rock (similar to WCKG their sister station) in the middle as they were tanking, and pop (novelty hit heavy) as they ended.

I think we have a few WYSY alumn that particpate here. Want to add/correct this?<P ID="signature">______________
