WZAT Lindsay Lohan promotion

Quoting the P.D. of WZAT-Savannah in regards to their promotional campaign to get Lindsay Lohan to pork up in today's R&R Street Talk, "It's been nuts! We're getting calls from all over the country about this thing. The traffic to the site is so ridiculous that we may need to add more bandwidth!" So I'm thinking this should be REALLY big. I got to the website www.feedlindsay.com and there's a massive 362 votes from listeners that think Lindsay is too skinny and a whopping 32 that think she's not.
The "Please LIndsay Eat" petition that is posted has a goal of 1000 signatures. I wanted to see what was eating up all of that damn bandwidth so I checked it out. 101 incredible votes. So, what is more bandwidth? A second phone line?
I'm not knocking the idea but remember when you submit things like this to the trades it's easy to check out on the Internet. US Weekly spotlighted the promotion and you can only muster up 101 signatures?
But hey, at least you don't have to play that new song. It's as bad as the first two! I'd didn't check Mediabase but tell me you're not!

HUH HA! I love that! I still say she looks fat though. I gotta get me one of those Eat me shirts..too bad Im a DJ and poor.

Do a google and you'll see it doesn't come up on any other pages.

I wonder if the pictures on that site are used with or without permission frmo the places they were taken. Hmm.

Paparazzi get paid by the tabloids. Tabloids pay big money to print them and post them on their site... not for everyone to steal. Sure, a lot of people steal the pictures and post them on their own sites, but several radio stations in the past have gotten slapped with lawsuits over it.

Go ahead and do it, I'm just warning you.

If it were me I'd take "donations" to buy Lindsay a burger. Make some $$$.

>swlajock - "I'm not knocking the idea but remember when you submit things like this to the trades it's easy to check out on the Internet."
-------------------------
The promotion, the website and the publicity via R&R is pure hype. Those are all GOOD things when it comes to radio promotions. Facts are boring.
-------------------------
>swlajock - "US Weekly spotlighted the promotion and you can only muster up 101 signatures?"
-------------------------
You raise a good point there. Hey, Jason. I launched a petition recently and managed to run the count up to about 100 all by myself within an hour. It's startlingly easy to defeat the system designed to prevent that. With help and a couple of hours, we could have had a 1,000 sigs right off the bat. If you want, I'll tell you how to do that.
-------------------------
>russ973 - "Paparazzi get paid by the tabloids. Tabloids pay big money to print them and post them on their site... not for everyone to steal. Sure, a lot of people steal the pictures and post them on their own sites, but several radio stations in the past have gotten slapped with lawsuits over it.
-------------------------
But it's not a radio station website. Jason put it together and the domain name is registered to "Chris Troupe, 710 South Clinton st #317, Athens, al 35611 US" whoever that is. (Jason's real name?) Unless Jason is wealthy (stifle your laughter radio jocks) I don't see how there is much danger of that.
Lawyers don't sue poor people very often.
-------------------------
>"Go ahead and do it, I'm just warning you."
-------------------------
Whatever you do, don't turn him in. That's a war you don't want to start. With well over 1,000 websites, I guaran-damn-tee you Clear Channel has copyright violations on some of them. And those are hosted at the big mutha CC technocenter. CC has too much money. Attorneys love to sue Clear Channel.
-------------------------
"If it were me I'd take "donations" to buy Lindsay a burger. Make some $$$."
-------------------------
Forgive me if I'm being dense but how do you make money collecting "donations?" Don't you have to turn it over to the beneficiary you would claim to benefit?
-------------------------
Nice work Jason. Your skills are improving. I remember when your sites looked like hell. :)

Hahah thanks. I'm too busy doing show prep to worry about bling bling websites, its really just a hobby. I know I can pad the petition but It's much more fun to see them come in for real, the hits have been pretty steady. I was just looking to make a funny website that might get some laughs. I know there are always people who want to rain on others parades, which is sad. Russ is really a good guy, I doubt he would do anything like that.

AND! How do you know Im not rich!!! HUH HUH!......oh forget it, same way my girlfriends have I guess : ) ha ha
