WZBL, 88.1, Barnegat Light - On The Air

Began picking up WZBL, 88.1 from Barnegat Light, up here in Toms River tonight ...
Looks like they went on the air right before their CP would've expired ...
The CP was granted on December 17, 2007 ... and the WZBL calls were only assigned just this past Sunday, December 12 ...
The station is owned by Hope Christian Church Of Marlton .. and is simulcasting the programming from their main station, WVBV, 90.5, Medford Lakes ...

I'm actually kinda surprised that an 88.1 in Barnegat Light and an 88.3 in Beach Haven West can co-exist ...

Atlantic County has three class-A's on 90.5. At least you have *some* spacing. lol

Look at 90.3 FM just around the NYC area:

WDFH - Ossining, NY (Mercy College)
WHCR - New York, NY (City College of New York)
WHPC - Gardnen City, NY (SUNY - Nassau)
WKNJ - Union Twp, NJ (Kean University)
WKRB - Brooklyn, NY (Kingsborough Community College)
WMSC - Upper Montclair, NJ (Montclair State University)
WRPR - Mahwah, NJ (Ramapo College)
WVPH - Piscataway, NJ (Piscataway High School)

In my hometown I get a mix of WRPR, WMSC & WHCR and I'm only about 5 miles south of WRPR's transmitter.

They definitely have an odd signal.

PirateJim is reporting hearing them in Toms River but today I was in the Tuckerton/Little Egg Harbor Twp. area and couldn't get a trace of WZBL on 88.1 until I was as far north as Eagleswood.

It's not really odd. It's only 100 watts from a whopping 43 feet.

Can get both without any bleeding right at the Ron Jon surf shop.
