WZBR-1410: No Music, Just A Carrier

Just not sure the family understands that you are supposed to notify or request permission to go off the air. You don't normally just shut off licensed stations unless your planning to turn the license back in. Hopefully they don't lose the ability to sell the stations from this move.
 
If Mr. Langer was the primary or possibly only operator of the two stations, and there was no family member or employee able to take over - a family member, the executor, or a lawyer may have made the decision to power them off and work out the details later.

I would think that Rob Landry, a station owner himself, who programmed the stations, must be in touch with the family and advising them.

"It's off the air. Alex Langer, the owner of WSRO and its sister station,
WZBR, recently died. His executor did not choose to keep running the
stations, and I was ordered to shut them down last Sunday.

The stations will be sold as part of the process of liquidating Alex's
estate."

after Alex to sell those stations for years; he always said no.

Newport, NH, has a hybrid classic country/folk-rock/contemporary country station, WCNL, that uses the liner "It's like the Grand Ole Opry, only in Newport! WCNL Country!" Actually, Newport does have a venue known as the Newport Opera House, but it's used mostly for community theater these days.
 
Does anyone know who is brokering WSRO and WZBR- I represent a group that may be interested in buying the Langer stations.
