WZEW adds an HD subchannel

Would anything be gained by simulcasting 92.5 and 96.5 from their current locations?
Is it a given than 96.5 will move?

I was thinking that 96.5 might've been to see if it'd reach the Eastern Shore, so it'd be a duocast like the Goforth stations. But... It's a short stick and a lot of water to cross, so I bet it hasn't lived up to their expectations.

Can anyone name a market with 2 Classic rockers? 92.5 going after the Rocket instead of TK seems unlikely.

None come to mind for me. Most have one classic rock and one classic hits. Which we already have with Jet. More or less.

I'm still thinking (hoping?) that it'll veer more towards some different format, maybe a classic rock and alternative hybrid or something. Not that it matters since I'm so far out of range of whatever they do.

Why in Gods good name can't iHeart put additional feeds like (Eclectic Radio, Alternative, iHeart 80s to the subchannels). Why does someone put Freedom Radio on it. There is not a lot of variety and I think an Alternative station would suffice. IMO.

I'm 99% sure that EMF is leasing the HD3, which is cash in iHeart's pockets that they desperately need.

The other options would require — gasp! — spending a few shekels on computers to stick in a closet, and that is just not going to happen, ha ha.

If ZEW is going to feed 101.1 then Freedom Radio might be leaving 96.1-3. Heck, it could wind up on 92.5-3 instead, or it could have been a mistake on the filing. We won't know until we know.

Freedom Radio is non-commercial. Do they even need a local parent to feed a translator? They can't just feed it with WLOG like Freedom's other translators? Or daisy chain it off the 89.7 translator in Gulfport?

101.1 would also be very valuable to WOWB. Then they could ID 101.1 Mobile/Pensacola and 90.9 Jay and add something misleading in there about 100,000 watts. All Wow would have to do is lease WZEW HD-3 to feed 101.1.
