WZLR Eagle 95.3 Dayton flips from Classic Rock to Classic Hits

I'm enjoying the new sound of the station! Much more pop oriented now. Despite the name remaining the same, there isn't much similarity to the prior playlist.

Time for Alpha Media to do something different with its low rated 101.5. May I suggest Active Rock or a contemporary-leaning Mainstream Rock format? 'TUE could use some decent competition!!!

Being in Columbus I'm out of range ... does it sound anything like The Point used to on 95.7? I was an avid listener of The Point online and OTA when I would visit western Ohio. If so, I'll try to remember to tune in.

I am not sure why they kept The Eagle name. They are playing songs from when they were The Point so why not go back to that? Also wish they could figure out what they want to do with 95.3. This is the third time, I think, in last year where they have changed the format. They haven't had a stable format for the signal since they first started out as The Eagle from 2006-2010.

Got to listen last night as I had to drive to Xenia for work and liked a lot of what I heard. I agree with you, though, udfan07, as with few exceptions it might as well be The Point again. Not a bad thing, mind you, as that's the music I grew up with, but I guess I just associated The Eagle name with their classic rock incarnation and not at all with the 80s.
Got the signal as far east as the London/Mount Sterling exit on 71, probably as far east as I've ever heard 95.3.

"The Point" has been gone so long, would anyone remember?"

They are directional to the west and nulled eastwards to get as much of their signal into Dayton proper.

I'm personally not a fan of the station. It's still the same old canned "safe" music selection.

WDTZ on 98.1, a low power station in Delhi Township on Cincinnati's westside, is a better 80's station IMHO. They also stream on the TuneIn app.

101.5 has major signal issues esp south of downtown.

(I just looked up on recnet.com.....they are directional and nulled to the northwest, west, and southwest, which is exactly where their signal needs to go.)
