WZNN tower?

I was on I-40 last night heading eastbound about a mile before the Swannanoa Exit (exit 59) and up on the side of the hill was a single tower with fresh looking paint and a dish on the ground to the right of the tower. I haven't noticed it before. Radio-locator.com said that the WZNN tower was in that vicinity. Spindoctor, is that your transmitter site? From the interstate, it looked like it was in the woods.

Chris

I don't want to speak for Spindoctor, but yes, that's the WZNN tower. It is accessible from Buckeye Cove Road, which runs parallel to the interstate. VERY clean facility, too!

Wonder if we can give the exact coordinates for those who would like
to take us off the air with a little c-4?
Kidding, but not really.
Yessir, that is my tower.

Sure we can...

But, those hippies protesting outside your studio are peaceniks...they don't believe in violence, so I don't think you have to worry about them blowing up your tower. Plus, that might disturb the squirrels and birds in the nearby woods with the blast, and they just couldn't do that.

Thanks for the confirmation. No danger here from me, just a curious broadcast engineer formerly of Asheville.

Chris

Sorry, let me shut up and go back to my closet.
