Zephyrhills little LPFM jewel. Owned and operated by Dr. Dr. Thayer (real name as I understand it), quite a character. Here is their website: http://rdray.com/WZPH/
WZPH is an example of what a low budget operation can sound like. The programming is very good. They use a Broadcast Warehouse processor that has a nice feel to it. The only know is because of the location of the transmitter, the reception starts to get spotty in north Z-Hills. But aside from that, not bad. WDCF could take some lessons on how to run a local station.

They have a Sixties style jingle package and "Dr.Dr." could have been on Top 40 radio back in the glory days. Love it
Driving back from Atlanta last week on I-75, it seemed that their signal was quite a bit weaker. Maybe it was just FM prop that day, though.
They are one of the few LPFM's actually doing what should be done with an LPFM license, and they are obviously having fun doing it. There's another one in Gainesville, FL (WGOT-LP 96.7) that is much like WZPH-LP in format and freshness. Almost all of the LPFM'ers in southern GA (and everywhere else) are merely religious translators in disguise (disgust).

Not to down play your response, but the FCC is clueless. It is the same one quoted as saying they want the radio dial to be reflective of the community when driving through it.
I live in Sa-ra-so-ta!, we have a high Amish population. It is difficult enough getting them to hook up to the power company. I don't see a radio station, here, playing, "All Amish, all the time".

I believe a Christian outfit previously had that frequency in the early 2000's. There was one or two Zephyrhills football games that were done over what sounded like a single line comrex...so someone before Dr. Dr did have that frequency. But for the format, music, etc., thats all the Doctors doing.
