WZQK 970 getting ready to return?

Driving thru Brandon yesterday and I picked up a dead carrier on 970 AM late in the afternoon. Was on and off intermittantly. Sounds like they may be getting the new transmitter site ready for the air.

Do you have any idea where the new towers are located? They should try to get permission to get a little more signal towards Jackson. I certainly hope they do something about their audio, it was getting kinda rough.

I don';t nthink WZQK could really go up in power without adding more towers.

980 WAKK McComb and 960 WABG Greenwood are the nearest co-channels, and while they're over 60 miles away.... certain millivolt contours of stations on the same or nearby channels can't cross and if 970 in Brandon wanted to have a crystal clear signal where you'd notice a difference,m they'd have to go to at least 4KW and that would cause prohibitive overlap with 960 and 980 if they didn't directionalize it anymore...

However, WZQk could add a 3rd nor 4th otwer and beam a signal into Jackson, I guess...
