WZYX (1440 Cowan TN) on 104.9?

I have my Sirius unit set to transmit on 104.9 in the car. Driving home from work today (Huntsville to Toney AL) when I switched to it, I noticed it was getting severe interference from something, I changed the transmitter frequency and before I tuned off of 104.9 I heard Tom Sawyer by Rush playing, I left it on there, but it went silent in the middle of the song for about 10 minutes. It finally came back, and I was hearing IDs for WZYX. Right now I have it on (9:29 PM) and I can here WZYX still, but with a large amount of AM noise. I tried searching for any info on this 104.9, but don't see anything on it from neither radio-locator or FCCInfo. Anyone know anything about it, or can pick it up? I had a steady signal from Shields Road in Huntsville all the way to my house in Toney, sound quality is reeealy bad and in mono

WZYX 104.9 FM is still in the testing stage and should be up to full speed with-in the next week or so. I work for the station in advertising and was informed that this is the first station to go FM in Franklin Co TN and it has marked a historic point for the county. Bare with us in this infant stage. Thanks :)

It sounds much better now. I put it on a few more times on the way home. I can not get any sign of a signal on 1440 so it's certainly an improvement from that. Never even knew the station existed until now, great to see another little hometown station.

Anyone reading this.. WZYX 104.9 FM has now once again changed it frequency.. it is now 105.3 FM. I know no longer work for this radio station for this very reason. I"m just making a statement that this radio station has some bad management and if your contacted to advertise with this station, do some back ground checks before signing any contracts. YOU COULD GET SCREWED.....11-14-2007

Update: November 21, 2007. The frequency has changed yet again, this time to 103.3 I believe. From what I understand, WZYX will not be able to broadcast on this frequency either. I've also be informed that the FCC has been contacted from a radio station in Fayettville TN about all this confusion with WZYX.

I'm a bit confused here. Has this AM station purchased an FM Translator? As we have heard, the NAB has pushed the FCC to allow AM's to be able to use FM translators. I went to the FCC's CDBS database and I couldn't find any FM translators licensed to Cowan, TN, or an applications for one being filed for.

It is illegal for them to be testing on any FM channel with out a license or what is called an "Special Temporary Authority" or known as an "STA". What bugs me is you guys are telling me that they are "channel hopping". Is this the licensee of WZYX doing this, or someone that just works for the station that has gotten ahold of a FM transmittter with a PLL module?
