They use to be #1 for years, they're now tied for #7. Could a format change be on the way? I hope so. BRING ON THE ROCK!!!!!!

I don't think Cox is going to "pull the plug" on 'ZZK anytime soon.
They still have "New Country 97.3" on "life support", too, and it's still churning along, somehow.

Guess all those years of 102.5 trying to topple 'ZZK finally paid off, even after going through "four lives" as a country station ("Wow", "Dixie", "Country 102.5", and now the "Bull").

WZZK will NEVER flip. The only way it'd ever happen is if there were no English-speaking people left in the Birmingham market and they'd probably just go ranchera then.

I'll agree with you. WZZK may be down, but they're not out. But for the meanwhile, looks like Cox's plan to cannibalize the country market in Birmingham is backfiring.

The Bull has the blessing of being on a better 102.5 signal that the previous country attempts did not have.

That helps...but having Patty & Dollar Bill for mornings, whom WZZK let slip away, certainly counts for more...good move on Clear Channel's part!

If one thing can be said about Cox, they're stubbornly loyal toward their flankers in Birmingham ("New Country 97.3") and Atlanta (WFOX "97-1 Jamz").

FM Sports talk, smooth jazz, Christian AC/CHR...all something different for the market that could do well, even off the bird or jockless/semi-jockless.

Ah screw it...point me to an XM/Sirius dealer or a high-speed ISP. No use in waiting for local radio to get better.
______________
What, you were expecting me to make sense for a change?
