WZZK

I wonder if they will syndicate Tuttle and Kline here. Aren't they currently on a sister country station in Texas? That would be cool to see them go head to head with Beaner and Ken. It begs the question, if they were piped in from Texas, would they be as bad in syndication as B & K?
______________
got ROCK?

Is the station they are at in Houston a Cox station? That would be interesting...Tuttle and Kline in the mornings and a new young country emphasis...it would be like the anti-bull. I can see the new logo now...WZZK, we're country with out the bull...just kidding.

Yes, they're at KKBQ.
______________

I just checked out their station in Houston...it appears they are in a morning zoo style morning show...I don't know how well that would translate into syndication. According to the ratings, their station is 12+ 3rd in the market for country listeners. Cox has a second country station that they are battling with for 2nd. Of course the morning numbers in their demo could be totally different...but for a young focused country station, 12+ numbers should be saying alot.

The website says to tune in on January 10 about 'ZZK turning upside down, but doesn't say when to tune in. Haven't heard anything listening online, either, about a time to listen in.

Sounds as though it's just a revamping of the current country format.
But someone on here proposed the idea that Cox might move the "new country" format presently heard on 97.3 to 104.7. Could this be what Cox is up to?

It's highly possible. We'll have to wait and see.

You are listening to 104.7 The Skunk...polka, reggaeton, line dancing songs, and other music that STINKS!

Hmm... they "turned it upside down" huh?

Looks like they just fired everyone and hired new people. That's not upside down. Alt Rock would be upside down.

I just checked out wzzk.com...they are still country...just new staff like you said. Seems like with all the effort on hyping up the turning "upside down" that there would have been a bigger change. Stations blow out staffs all the time...

What a waste of good hype!

Sounds like it was "much ado about nothing". ZZK's website is still talking about the upside down billboards. Sort of deja vu. Didn't 'ZZK try the upside down billboards a few years back?

As far as alternative rock goes, it probably wasn't likely Cox was going to replace 'ZZK with alternative rock. The "X" is barely holding its own as it is now. I wouldn't be surprised if Citadel decides to "pull the plug" on the "X" within the next six months or so.
