Well they're up with the new format. Not that much but up. The format/music is great. Its one of the few FM stations around here that I listen to on a regular basis. <P ID="signature">______________

Well, up's definitely better than down, right? ;-)
I'm loving it as well.... listening to it via online stream now. Just heard "I Love You" by People. I can't remember the last time I heard that one on the radio!

Just imagine what they could do with one or two of the old JMK jocks?
Like a Winston mornings....Biondi aftenoons kinda thing....I would say that this trend would justify bringing in some local talent...or maybe it doesn't?

Q101 sucks, i get my rock on siruis and xm. I love both services for the rock selection and many others as well.

And they never will, Q101 has a LONG history of being viewed as the enemy by many Chicago hard rock/metal fans. Even when they've experimented with hardening up their sound, many still wouldn't listen just because it was Q101.
I'd suggest everybody who wants rock listen to WIIL if you can pick it up. It seems to be where people from Milwaukee & Chicago are going since both markets lost their active rock stations within a month of each other if you look at the ratings. They play Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, H.I.M., Shinedown, Seether, System Of A Down, Sevendust, Static X, Mudvayne, Staind as well as other artists popular on Active Rock as well as plenty of classics. Its pretty much the only outlet available on FM in Milwaukee and Chicago for a lot of active artists. Since Lazer 103 Milwaukee flipped to "The Hog" in August I've been listening to WIIL regularly for my rock fix and I find it to be pretty decent.

Local morning guy started yesterday--his name is MacKay--didn't get his first name, but I thought for a second it was David MacKay (ex-WCLR, WFYR)--it isn't.
He's coming in under the radar, what with Feder either on vacation or doing year-in-review columns this week and Rosenthal also on vacation.
