X-mas music 2010. Who is doing it well ?

I am liking WPLM the best.
7:pM comes and it's time for WODS.
Otherwise I would keep WPLM full time.
Coast 93 not bad, but I have some reception issues with them.
Your thoughts ?

As soon as I listen to any of them (MAYBE Christmas Eve), I'll let you know.

Here in central Massachusetts, I listen to 100FM The Pike which, thankfully, keeps its regular format but does occasionally, as it has started to do, sprinkle in the occasional Christmas tune as does Oldies 98-9. I also listen to Mike-FM in the vehicle while travelling around eastern Mass and they too, thankfully, stick with their regular format with the occasional Christmas tune sprinkled in. Unfortunately, while doing my retail work in various retail establishments, I am subject to Christmas music all day long on in-store music systems.

ive been enjoying 1710's selections bit their library isnt that big. time to move down to 1640

Kennedy Compound dropped exactly one christmas tune last time i tuned - tastefully keeping it a minumum

WFNX is throwing in a few "alternative" X-Mas gems from assorted artists they play. I've heard so far: The Ramones - "Merry Christmas (I Don't Wanna Fight Tonight)", The Killers - "Boots" new X-Mas single released this year, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones cover of the Pretenders "2000 Miles" and of course The Pogues - "Fairytale Of New York"

.............181.fm Christmas traditions.......And Movin` Radio Christmas Classics.

I`m sorry but the locals are just too repetitive and have short playlists

I've always enjoyed the Boston Christmas stations, 103.3 and 105.7. Both stations do an equally good job, way better than my locals in central NJ. I've noticed in general I prefer an oldies/classic hits station's presentation of Christmas music since its rotation has very few songs produced after I was born.

I think Oldies 103 and 105.7 WROR present the music decently....but...in the past, they played a much larger variety of Christmas music. I have barely heard any Motown Christmas music from either station. Im about to put my foot through the car stereo if they play Last Christmas by Wham 1 more time! ! ! GUYS, PLEASE! ! ! ! NO MORE! ! !

Speaking of FNX, Oedipus will be doing his annual X-Mas eve show, 2nd year on FNX. Should definitely be worth listening to.

I've never heard this song before... I imagine I should be grateful.

If I could do a bit of (very infrequent) promotion for my show, I have two hours of holiday music on my show this week. A lot of it quite obscure but for the more-adventurous of you, check it out:

My favorite this season was WHOM Mt. Washington, NH/Portland, Maine (huge signal) via. internet radio. Good variety of songs, basic contemporary with lots of classics, including all sorts of cuts from my favorite 1964 'Rudolph' cartoon not heard anywhere else (Clarice's song "There's Always Tomorrow", "Island of Misfit Toys", although haven't heard "We're A Couple of Misfits"!), the Who's gathering song "Welcome Christmas" from Grinch cartoon, novely songs, carols, standards, country, etc. Good imaging, nice Christmas jingles, all in all listenable for hours, UNTIL John Tesh comes on at night.

WMJX doesn't go all Christmas, but I noticed that on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day when they do for 24 hours, the music they usually play is very soft, kind of like New Age. It's like you'll forget that you're listening to the radio.

@ Freqlost, a friend of mine at a station you mentioned for "doing it right" appreciated the positive feedback.
I think they were the best.
Very little repetition.
Even better tonight.
No Delilah, so I can stay and listen to Frank & company sing Christmas tunes.

WODS on the other hand thinks playing Feliz Navidad every 2 hours is good radio.

Now that the xmas music is over, sounds like Easy 99.1 is more classic rock. Weren't they more top 40-ish recently? Just took a look at their website to see the jock on duty and there are no jocks at all. Not one to be found -not even Delilah.
