X106.7 goes classic rock

This was not a surprising move. I had a conversation recently with someone who recently left (within past year) Cox SA and they were saying... move KISS to 106.7 since it seems like a tainted signal and do something with 99.5

They were saying how the KISS brand will outshine the history of woes on the 106.7 frq. I would have to agree. Moving KISS to 106.7 would be great and eliminate the bad history the channel has. Then to do something completely new for 99.5 would be an awesome idea.

Just an thought....

Anyhow... good luck to Cox SA on their new station.

More classic rock like there isn't enough already. Great. Why no alternative rock still??!! This is rediculous. Why does this town love old music so much?? If it's not country, top 40, or plenty of Spanish stations, then it's classic rock or 80's galore. Kiss continues to be stuck in the 90's for the most part. Gotta love San Antonio.

play some Pantera for all the black t-shirt wearin vatos....PPM has killed Lisle & Hahn....but KISS will survive.

Why not Alternative?

DO NOT MOVE KISS TO 106.7!!!!!!!!!!!!! Worst idea ever!!! I can't DX 106.7 in Houston but 99.5 comes in loud and clear.

Cox could be going for: urban ac, hot ac, dance-friendly top 40, Texas country, classic hits, gold alternative mixed with currents or sports.

Why alternative? Why attract an 18-25 male demo that doesn't have cash? Classic Rock is a 35-64 male demo... that surprisingly has money!

Also, why put up an alternative format when your key demo probably just listens to their ipod?

If you're not making money, why are you doing it? This is show-business.

I had this idea months ago, but came up with this scenario, Cox should move KISS to 101.1 and call it Rock 101 KISS, move KONOs Classic Hits format to 105.3 and keep the Magic moniker, and KSMG calls dropping KONO FM calls, Move Magic to 106.7 and call them KMIX 106.7 more music a better mix KMIX San Antonio, and put Urban AC on 99.5 "This is your radio station" 99.5fm KSJL playing the best variety of hits and oldies (nothing is better than a Rythmic CHR 98.5 The Beat for your hip hop, and 99.5 KSJL for your slow jams, soul, and R&B. Oh and flip AM 860 to True Oldies AM 860 KONO

If that's you logic, then why even bother with top 40?
