X98.5, a breath of fresh air

http://radioinsight.com/blog/headlines/netgnomes/58905/whats-cox-talking-about/ - Updated article

I am loving this station....we needed it terribly, 93.3 is so awful. They can keep their loud, overmodulated, tired active rock. Any thoughts on the X? Already over 100 Facebook fans in 3 hours. I think it'll do well. I'm hearing stuff that's never been heard on the radio dial here, and some 90s flashbacks like Green Day and Third Eye Blind.

5,000 songs commercial free, which should run out around Labor Day. I think I will be listening to this a lot. Cox sure kept this under wraps, down to the domains. I was a little skeptical of Talk 98.5, but never expected anything this good. No more having to stream Radio 104.5! Cox also has "X" Alternatives in Jacksonville and Tampa Bay.

Awesome. Just saw this after reading the translator thread. I'm out of town, but anxious to hear it. Thank goodness maybe finally a rock station that I can listen to.

Hmm. Odd, since Cox is leaving the market. Also odd that a 250 watt translator is trying to take out a full class C rock station that diaries in Charlotte.

I smell a ruse, of sorts, is afoot.

This is the real deal and has been in the works for a couple of months at least (seeing that the "real" domain and Facebook page was created over 2 months ago). Well before the Cox announcement. Talk was a decoy.

I don't think they can take out 93.3 by any means (if that's their intent), but I think it's a nice alternative and refreshing change for many in the Upstate area.

I wouldn't be surprised if they take a good chunk of their listeners away. The Planet doesn't get the greatest ratings to begin with. And anyone with decent music taste should be looking elsewhere (and that's not saying alot IMO).
