XEEP heard in N. Tx

It's like a visit from an old friend. Saturday morning I heard 1060 XEEP Mexico City loud and clear around 3:00 am. They were tracking a James Taylor album. They're usually covered up by 50k WLNO New Orleans, and sure enough, as I got further north and east, I got into the WLNO lobe. Monday morning XEEP was dominant, and 'LNO was gone.
To add to my delight, the usual splatter from 1050 XEG was absent. The signal sounded to be in higher fidelity than most other AM stations.

Funny you brought that up, grant, because I noticed the same thing one night (okay, really about 2 in the morning) last week. As sometimes happens, WLNO had eased on out and XEEP was pretty solid. It's an interesting mix of music, to say the least; besides a healthy dose of classical music I've heard big band and classic jazz instrumentals, along with Sinatra and some of today's jazz vocalists. You're right; the better fidelity is pretty apparent, unlike most of what you hear nowadays from north of the border! BTW, XEEP streams (and they sound great) at www.radioeducacion.edu.mx/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1 Click on the "Radio En Vivo" tab (best to use IE or toggle to it using Firefox's IETab add-on).
