XETV San Diego

Hehehehe "I don't have to show you no stinkin' badge"They only identify themselves as FOX 6. Only time you see/hear anything about XETV is when they do their sign-on and the Mexican national anthem at 4 a.m. They are a Mexico station.

Since they weren't bound by FCC rules, they ran absolutely NO public service or news. When other network affiliates were running their local 11:00 PM News, they played syndicated sit-com reruns. Keep in mind, this was before news became a cash cow for local stations.

Yes, it was strange to have the AMERICAN Broadcasting Company with a Mexican-based affiliate. Some time in the 70s they moved to channel 39(who is now NBC) then finally to 10(which was then the NBC affiliate) around 1976

ABC moved to 39 in 1972, then to 10 in 1977, back when the Alphabet became the #1 network. Back in the late 60s-early 70s, one of 39's original owners went to the FCC to get ABC off of 6, and ultimately got their wish, albeit it only lasted five years.
