Xfinity upgrade in S. Jersey for Garden State Cable

It looks like the former Garden State Cable now Comcast - Garden State out of Cherry Hill finally got the Xfinity upgrade and now has HD in the 800s.

It took much longer to do the Scientific Atlanta systems than the Motorola systems. Garden State is SA. Something to do with those little tiny digital converter boxes. They couldn't take away the analog cable as fast. I used to have Comcast and we got the upgrade last spring. Switched to Verizon because they offered a better triple play price that Comcast was offering to give me after my triple play expired.

As a Fios convert, I noticed right away that Fios has a pretty wide selection of international channels.

Comcast is still doesn't sell any in Cherry Hill/Voorhees even though there are a lot of Asian families.

I never understood why Comcast of Baltimore had many international channels (as of 4 or so years ago), when the demographics are more black and white and less Asian, but Comcast Garden State isn't selling any international.

I'm not sure if this upgrade will level the big differences in channel counts between Comcast and Fios.

I also notice Verizon has more music choices, Verizon offers a few different music systems. Dish and Direct also have Sirius but have their own music stations. Comcast sticks with that boring Music Choice, they should have a few more music systems...

Not anymore. FIOS has 46 different channels of Music Choice (in South Jersey). For the life of me I can't remember what other music channel they had (Urge?) but they dropped that from their programming sometime before Thanksgiving.

DirecTv does not have Sirius-XM anymore. They have Sonic Tap now, programmed by DMX. As another poster posted, Verizon just has the same Music Choice that Comcast has. Dish still has Sirius.

Urge was pretty bad, and annoying to scroll through on the guide.

The MusicChoice on Comcast was also available to Comcast internet subscribers, but not to Fios internet subscribers.

Do they have RAI in your area? They don't in New York City. If I spoke fluent Italian, that would be the only international channel I would have any interest in at all. Oh well, at least I have NFL Network... ::)
