XHRM 92.5

XHRM 92.5 sales staff is telling advertisers it will be rebranding very, very soon.

Chris...It seems that you are STARting to say something, but I am STARtled at how much more you seemed to imply on SDRADIO.NET about this station now that Finest City is its new maSTAR.

Peace is the word, and the Voice of the Peace is THE station, 24 hours a day. (Tribute to the VOP 1540 which broadcast for 20 years in the Eastern Mediterranean)</P>

I was wondering why they didn't hand Rico the reins to XHRM as well as Z-90 considering he programmed both simultaneously (and was kicking ace) at one time. It's all making sense now...

Both star925.com and histar925.com have been registered very recently, like in the last couple of weeks, but they were registered through domains by proxy - so we don't know if it's actually Finest City doing it, or a squatter.

I would think if it were a squatter, they wouldn't go to the trouble to anonymize.

I thought Magic was doing well, I wonder why they'd get rid of it? It would leave kind of a Jammin' Oldies/Urban AC hole, wouldn't it?

Anyways, here's the link to the godaddy whois for histar925.com:

Not happening. Magic will stay Magic. The info probably came from a Clear Channel salesperson who isn't joining the new company.

No, I disagree with you.
Chris would not be talking about it, unless something was up.

If I were you, I would indeed stay tuned for what ever it is.
Keep in mind, rebranding doesn't mean that there won't be any more Magic. We don't know what it means (and I don't dare speculate).

Yes, I know.
histar925.com was registered by somebody in Scottsdale AZ.

IT MEANS N - O - T - H - I - N - G - !
...Until something happens.

Chris has been hinting very strongly about a re-image to "Star," not a simple rebranding. Magic is not changing its name.

A fake logo has been circulating around the market, and it appears that people have been playing domain games with URLs like histar925.com, etc. These have led to rumors that Magic is transforming into Star 92.5, which will not happen.

Ok, fake logo, histar, whatever.
This story had Nothing to do with a rumor.

I guess we just have to wait and see who's telling the truth on this one. I'm putting my money with Chris.

Cash, Debt or Charge?

> Er.. Yeah.

1. If Chris isn't HINTING it's going to re-image as Star (as I said above), then why is he running this line on his website?
"Street Buzz indicates that there may be no more magic at 92.5. Are the Stars in realignment....."

2. I'm not a contrarian. I'm someone who actually spoke to the people who know what's going on and got a solid response.

3. When I spoke to the people in the building, they said they heard about a fake logo that was spreading through the market and that's what they thought sparked the rumors. That's why I brought it up, in case Chris partially based his rumors on a logo he might've seen.

4. Spreading rumors? I thought I was killing rumors. The whole statement I made of "Magic isn't changing its name" is not a rumor, it's a statement that the rumors aren't true.

May I ask whether you spoke to jocks or management? It makes a difference.

Easy one.
He's doing that to spur interest and to get you to stay tuned to his page. Sell the sizzle, not the steak. Find me a news journalist that doesn't tease their stories.

If that's true, why aren't you emailing Chris to correct him, instead of spouting this stuff on a national board first? If you have some contradictory information, send him a letter. Maybe he got bad info from one of your co-workers?

This is a very dirty trick to make it seem as though he made any rumors. In fact, he hasn't reported anything yet. He passed on information about what some sales people were doing, and that was it. Your attempts to paint Chris as passing rumors is a failure, and clearly an attempt to slander someone. Are you the same person as TradingSpaces, or maybe one of TradingSpaces' friends?

So you are a jounalist now?
Like I said, if you are in the know and have inside information, go to http://www.sdradio.net , contact Chris (it's right there at the bottom of the page), and tell him what you know. I think that's more productive. But I suspect you won't do that because you are only here to criticize and try to make someone look bad. But hey, it didn't work this time, I'm on to you.

First of all, there's a difference between "spurring interest" and making a definite hint towards something, and Chris was making a definite hint. Otherwise, "Star" wouldn't have been capitalized and italicized.

Second of all, I'm not trying to slander anyone. I'm merely saying that people are talking about information that's wrong. It doesn't make anyone a bad person to believe in incorrect information. But if the information was posted on a national message board, why am I the bad guy by trying to correct it here?

I'm calling your bluff, Garrett, and e-mailing Chris right now. You can think you're onto me all you want, but you obviously have no idea who I am or what I know.

Good, call him and tell him what you know.
You are not hurting my feelings, believe me!

You are right, I do not know who you are. So? That is your choice, you do not win a prize.

I have no intention of getting into some kind of riff with you.
Let's get it out in the open, what information is correct, and what information is not. I welcome the debate, bluff or no bluff.

The fact that it was registered less than two weeks ago, while the station is changing hands, by someone who went out of their way to anonymize themselves means N - O - T - H - I - N - G ?

Oh, OK.

Yes, as far as any connection to 92.5.
It may mean something to somebody somewhere.
However, until we can confirm any connection to 92.5 in San Diego, that domain could belong to anyone.

But most importantly, to say that it means anything in this regard, would be to speculate. And it seems we are having trouble around these parts understanding that. All we know, is that there was a credible report (if it comes from SDRadio.net, it's credible, imho) that XHRM sales people were warning advertisers of a rebranding. And we have the conflicting report from someone who seems to be somehow connected with them that this is not the case.

So for now, that's all we have.
Yes, until we know more, www.histar925.com means NOTHING, NADA, ZERO, ZIP, ZILCH!

Okay, well, here's what information is correct, as now printed at sdradio.net:

There's still Magic at 92.5 -- the only stars are in the personalities and music

You should be, like, a spokesperson for the government or something.
