Perhaps it is an oversight but XHUPN is not listed in the latest issue of Television Week as affiliating with MyNetwork...

Oh, so now we are acting as proofreaders for industry publications?

Who cares if something is or isn't listed in the trades? Maybe the announcement didn't get to them in time for deadline ...
______________

Found this on tv week today:

The new agreements include five stations currently affiliated with UPN: Bay City Television's XUPN-TV in San Diego (26); Journal Broadcasting's WACY-TV in Green Bay-Appleton, Wis. (69); WBGT, LLC's WBGT-TV in Rochester, N.Y. (79); Cox Television and Broadcast Development's KAME-TV in Reno, Nev. (112); and GH Broadcasting's KTOV-TV in Corpus Christi, Texas (129).

XHUPN is actually on Channel 49--that is, if you just have an off-air antenna. It is channel 13 on cable.

KM...ah...where did that comment come from?

I simply made an observation that they were not listed in the latest issue of Television Week, which is, of course, covering extensively the subject of the new net coming up. They were listing the announced affiliates as of March 17th and I was legitimately raising the spector that despite XHUPN/49 (Cable 13) being owned Entravision and their affiliation for XETV/6 being with FOX, that them affiliating with the new MyNetwork may not be a foregone conclusion and that this media conglomerate may have other plans for the signal.

Maybe so, no disrespect intended, but I was hoping that my contribution would cause a discourse or a discussion on what is a pretty quiet board. I thought this was a radio and TV broadcasting discussion board....or is it???

So there...we had a elucidation of my question...what I expected from my earlier...

Breathe?

Read what you wrote. It comes off as a nitpick of Television Week.

If you look at Chip Kelley's grid, you would have seen that not only is XHUPN/49 confirmed as a MyNetwork affiliate, they have applied for a call letter change to XHDTV.

Realistically, what you say above would, in my mind, make it even more a foregone conclusion that the affiliation would take place, given that Fox owns MyNetwork.

Well, it did cause a discussion, just not exactly the one you expected.
______________

(see above)

That might be find but I was just raising a question from a trusted industry source and was inquiring whether anyone heard otherwise.

KM, you of all people should know that nothing is predictable in the broadcasting industry....
