XLR <---> ETHERNET...?

Can anyone suggest a simple two-channel end-to-end Audio to Ethernet convertor (and vice-versa)?

I know there are devices from companies like Wheatstone and Rane, but these are geared more towards big audio distribution networks. I am looking for a simple stand-alone device for just two channels that could for instance send audio over a Wifi access point...

Hmmm... Bummer... Exactly what I was looking for, but it uses MP3. I was hoping for something with straight AES conversion. We try to keep out whole plant here uncompressed.

Even though it is MP3,the Barix stuff sounds quite good. My only complaint is the latency.

Take a look at the EtherSound and CobraNet... They are different protocols but both audio-over-IP. Different manufacturers produce various units for various purposes, so you should be able to find something that fits your bill. I've also seen in a couple video catalogs.. maybe markertech? that use baluns to run audio over Cat5. But its analog and not digital.
