Clear Channel calls the shots on that channel, and they decided not to put the Phile on satellite anymore.

Phil Hendrie retired from radio and stopped production of his show. He now does acting only and is on the new NBC Series "Teachers"

Hendrie wasn't the host of the Phillips Phile. Totally different program.

For somebody who did what Phil did was amazing. People who got it were very entertained.

Again, folks, they are ... TWO ... SEPARATE ... SHOWS. Hendrie's show was a brilliant satire of talk radio; the Phillips Phile (Phillips being the host's last name) was redneck fare for the knuckle-dragging, sloped-forehead crowd from one of Clear Channel's southern affiliates. Nobody who's heard both would ever confuse them.

CC replaced Orlando's Jim Philips with Tampa's Todd Schnitt. He's a morning show character that goes by the alias of "MJ", and hosts a simulcast AM-drive CHR-formatted wake up show from Tampa which simulcasts to maybe a couple of other CC markets. Lucky us--he also does the drive-time afternoon talk show recently added to 152, which is another 2-3 market simulcast. Can't really stand him, but this is what we can expect from CC since they canned the idea for the regional talk channels late last quarter. They'll just pipe in bits and pieces of those proposed channels in their current timeslots to keep them "fresh". If Schnitt doesn't work out, they'll probably throw someone else at us come Fall.

As for Phil Hendrie, we miss ya buddy.
