XM 159

Does XM 159 exist yet? They are supposed to be adding the MJ Morning Show out of Tampa, but it seems like it has been delayed for weeks now. Just try to get to that channel and let me know if you can/can't.

No it doesn't exist, and Clear Channel has killed off so many channels prior to launch that this is really no surprise. They were also supposed to launch 6 regional news channels and a classic R&B channel.

I havent hread anything on this case about clear channel putting MJ on XM-159. It's would be nice if Rick Dees will be on XM but I know he not @ clear channel anymore.

I would love to see CC put WFLZ in Tampa Bay on XM-159. Great station and MJ is a great morning host!!!!!

So are there any fresh rumors about what CC might launch on XM?

i would guess nothing since it's 2007 and the deal ends next year and clear channel seems to be sellers now with all the stations they seem to be selling to various other groups

I'll bet they like their XM relationship secretly because it's like having a full-service radio station in a market larger than New York, which holds potential for a LOT of advertising revenue. In addition they don't have to pay to power and maintain a transmitter, and they don't have to hire X amount of people per channel as per FCC regulations for AM/FM radio. They could have turned over their shares to Bear Stearns any time before the execution deadline next year, and they haven't.

I'd like to see Clear Channel Format Lab's Christian CHR "Hits On High" on XM. It would complement Christian AC The Message (XM 32), and honestly, I think I could even live with a light commercial spot load, since (as heard online) the "HOH" format includes clean comedy and other vignettes.

No. No more FM stations on satellite radio. XM dealt with that crap in 2001 and we should be well past that. If you want to pay for a service to provide your favorite commercial FM stations wherever you go, subscribe to mSpot. They carry AM and FM stations from Clear Channel, CBS Radio, NPR, and the ABC satellite music networks.
