XM 49...what The Bone was trying to do in 2002

Not to sing the praises about XM too much on here (I don't want my post moved to another board)...BUT...a new classic rock channel, Ch 49, just started recently. All the songs and artists that The Bone was playing during those first couple of wonderful months before they screwed it up completely---they're all there. The focus is on classic rock mainly from 1978-86. Lots of Cars, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Heart, later Led Zeppelin, even Slade (when's the last time you heard "Run Runaway" on the radio?) Nice niche for displaced 35-45 males who don't always want to hear the oldest and newest of the rock genre.

It's worth every penny for this channel, even JUST the new 49 channel. I agree with you about it sounding very similar to the old Bone. The only major difference is the Bone even threw a bit more Texas bluesy flavor like Stevie Ray and ZZ Top in the mix, which I miss on 49. Thank you XM for paying attention to what was needed, unlike terrestrial!

Attention Scotty Boy Strong: You suck!

Scott is quitting anyway

Scotty's new job

I heard he'll be booking bands for the Nokia bandshell thing in Grand Prairie. If his band selections are as weak as his music programming skills, expect to see The Starland Vocal Band appearing alongside Milli Vanilli in a "summer spectacular blowout" soon.

Cripes, another reason for me to avoid the "New Bronco Bowl"
