Why? 70 percent of their weekday programming is off the bird. The only truly local shows are AM Tampa Bay and the two weekend local libtalkers, Dan Ruth and Mark Beiro.EDIT: Oh, and I forgot The Fisher Files on Sunday. Sorry, Jeffy. The Dude said:WFLA on XM????That would be AWESOME!!!!!!!
But it's going to happen eventually, isn't it? After all, they put it in the category "Regional News, Talk & Music Channels." So my guess is they will take stations with the names Kiss and Mix from somewhere.Kent said:From what I've heard, it's not guaranteed, and not really expected at this point, that KISS-XM, Mix-XM, Sunny-XM and Nashville-XM will simulcast any terrestrial stations.
It was done before (Kiss being the last to drop simulcast)...so Clear Channel now is probably considering it, and (maybe) if they get sick of programming their own stations on XM, they'll dump them for FM simulcastsJoeMorris said:But it's going to happen eventually, isn't it? Who told you WFLA was simulcasting at all? Because it isn't.radioguy555 said:Does anyone with XM know which channel 970 is simulcasting on?
Don't bet on it. The stations were put into the "regional" category simply because they no longer fit the category they were previously in, which was 100% commercial free music. In other words, it was just the best place to put the channels, and XM wanted to emphasize the 100% commercial free music channels. Remember, when Mix 96.5 Houston and 102.7 KIIS LA left XM, the channels were still airing commercials. KISS and Mix are already Clear Channel brands. So, I wouldn't look for a terrestrial simulcast to happen. I wouldn't necessarily rule it out, but I don't expect it either. It would have been much easier to just throw on a terrestrial simulcast, like they did with WSIX, than what they've done at this point.JoeMorris said:But it's going to happen eventually, isn't it? Will at least Clear Channel put air talent on these stations. Even if its Voice Tracked that would be great, would love to hear Kane return to XM, either by adding Open House Party or having him track a shift on Kiss 21.smashedcd said:mix is now my second favorite station..behinf liquid metal ;D the sq is great on mix..and all these hits on one station.its great!! and no the 3 stations are not going terestial fm..i got a responce from cc..these are the stations that are staying..oh and those commercials...no more than 3 minutes per hour!! big deal!! even wsix is almost commercial free on xm..they put a gold song over the stopsets. day 3 no commercials!! tears for fears is on mix 22...nope wait..thats david and david..hey its all 80s right now![]()
