Starting April 17th Xm will have 2 b/ez channels.Sunny will continue on channel 24 but unfortuanly will have commercials until 2008 because it is owned by Clear Channel.Escape the new b/ez channel will be on Channel 78 and be programmed by Marlon Taylor without commercials.
Edited by jeff003 on 03/30/06 07:14 AM.

Isn't that who programs Sunny right now? So does that mean Marlon moves to 78 and Sunny is purely programmed alone by Clear Channel?

And a sane person would pay a monthly fee to hear commercials

I'm sane believe me but I like the idea of having two b/ez channels at my fingertips.Marlin won't be programming Sunny as of April 17th so they will be playing different songs then escape. Also when a commercial comes on I'll go to escape. If you don't like what you hear on one you can jump to the other that's what I was trying to say however since cc is programming Sunny and Marlin isn't I can unfortuanly see Sunny playing all vocals a year or 2 from now.It will probebly be similar to Sirius Movin Easy Channel that is nothing other then soft rock.On the other hand Sunny could go all instrumental like dish networks b/ez channel but that's not likely.Only time will tell.Speaking of Marlin he's also going to be programming Enlighten XM's Southern Gospel station that hits the Sats April 17th.

Good.....I hope they take out the songs with vocals too on Channel 78,they dont belong ON AN "EASY LISTENING" stream....... (Channel 24 sucks for the most part)

The traditional beautiful music format in a lot of markets was exactly the kind of mix we have on Sunny & Escape - 80% instrumental/20% vocal.

I've heard some EASY LISTENING stations back in the 80s on the radio....THEY DIDNT HAVE VOCALS!!Ah well.........

I remember. I have nothing against vocals, but someone at XM or Sirus needs to take a look at what Music Choice is offering. I can't have that unless I pay for digital cable, though I get it in my motel room in Myrtle Beach when I'm there.

... because there is also a non-comm version of the same format.
