XM on AOL

Just signed up for AOL 9.0, I noticed a Radio AOL Icon, when I hit it I was brought to XM radio. There are well over 100 channels, deep stuff, British Invasion Oldies, Classic Country, Hard Rock, fantastic sound quality. This is FREE with your subscription which is 3 months free trial anyway. My question, is this the XM that is satellite radio or just some AOL project. Seriously, you cannot beat the deal you just run it through your home stereo system and you are set. Forget the bias Philly dial, this is the way to go....I Can't Stop by the Honeycombs is on now as I type, on the British Invasion Channel....what can I say....play that one OGL, or as a matter of fact, play their big hit, Have I The Right, fat chance. How can you fit that in when you are catering to the Pookie Hudson crowd 24/7, HA HA.... Jack to you when Ben flips, serves you right for underserving the real oldies audiance..I would advise anyone who is sick of the dial in Philly to get AOL.

I like the quote at the bottem about head hancho haha thats the truth

AOL is now free. How did they get you to sign up for a trial (after which you pay)?

AOL Radio with XM channels is free and has been for some time via AOL's and Netscape's websites and via WinAmp audio player.

It is some XM channels plus music channels programmed by AOL.
XM music channels are also available as part of DirecTV subscriptions.
DishTV carries Sirius music channels.

Yes, while the "music choice" logo still hanges in the background!

What are you talking about? DirecTV discontinued Music Choice almost two years ago.

Ya thier stupidist move yet :(

Music Choise is MUCH better in my opinion (Especially seeing DTV isnt correcting the crap audio on most of the XM streams. Its like they dont care)

Sorry for the misquote, I should of said, I just purchased a new Toshiba system and in the brochure, they offered AOL free for 6 months. So I called them and they hooked me up for 6 free months, then I saw the AOL XM-Radio thing. There is also a pair of headphones Icon, if you click on them, you can pick any group or song, the newer ones have videos. I went way back to the 60's and early 70's Rock and they had the songs. You have to admit, this is really hard to beat, now if you can find something to work in the car or outdoors, you cannot loose. I guess you can purchase the portable XM or Sirius walkman but they are over 300.00, they have to come down before I purchase one.

AOL software is now free. Meaning if you have comcast for example for your ISp, you can download AOL and use it. However they are still a ISP provider. So if you don't have an internet provider, and you want AOL, you will need to pay them for the dial up, which is now pointless, as netzero ads point out, why get AOL as an ISp, when you can get the same thing for $10, and use AOL anyway?
