XM on iPhone/iPod Touch

I just downloaded the iPhone app for the iPod Touch. I have online access to XM with my subscription. However, the iPhone/iPod Touch app requires "Premium Online." The app claims I don't have access to my channels via the iPod Touch. Is this a means for SiriusXM to get me to pay for monthly online access a second time when I already have it on my account, or am I missing something? Thanks!

Not a second time, you "just" have to upgrade the one to "Premium". At least the app is free...

Basically, you have to pay the $3/month if you want to be able to listen on your iPod Touch/iPhone. Those who renewed and got the online broadcasts thrown in for free don't get the premium service free. I downloaded the app and was going to buy a premium subscription, but I'm not eligible as I have too many special rates on my account. I've made it adamantly clear that I won't pay the additional prices for the service that went into effect in March, and they've made me accommodations, but premium online streaming, whether for free or the $3/month rate, is not one of them. It would have been worth an extra $3/month to me to make the service more portable, but it's not worth any more than that to me!

Eliminating the 'free' online listening and charging $3/month for it was another "not a price increase" that Sirius agreed to the FCC, so IOW, they lied about price increases to get their merger.

Gee what a shock.

These guys lie so much that they should all consider going into politics.

But I digress. In the case of former xm subs, like me, they're now offering the higher kbs stream and the iPhone ap. So they're supposedly discontinuing one product and substituting another. I'm no fan of the new dumbed-down service...especially newly-bland decades channels, but I do like the higher quality stream.

Now my gripe is the "timeout". If you're paying for the stream, IMHO, there should be no timers.

Agreed, that time out does suck.
