XM raising rates

Those of you that have XM , look out , your rates are about to go up. I refuse to pay the music fees, so it looks like it is back to regular radio in in NWA. I have been testing it, and I found the 3 or 4 sports stations that are here are pretty good. I can now hear the sports statin at night now which is a nice change. I like having "The Hog" on 99.5 so I can hear it at night. The only music station here is 98.3,"The Keg", good mix of Rock. The est need some work.

You said you were going to cancel that last time....

yeah I know, but now I am no longer going to continue to suscribe to XM. I am going to tough it out with regular radio again. Good thing I like sports, ans as far as music since there are no good music stations,I will continue to add osngs to my MP3 i got for Christmas. That I can also use in the car.

I found this really interesting. What kind of entertainment entity raises rates during a recession? One that can't pay the bills?

SIRIUS/xm will never be like the old XM was. My, they have to find a way to keep Howard Stern in their stable so the service's core product (music) goes to the crapper.

Sat radio is pretty much doomed anyway as a "tweener" technology because its already obsolete due to "eyephone" apps that will do streaming online mobile. The mainstreaming of 4G service will sink Sirius since any station that streams will be available and not just what S/XM broadcasts.
