XM Rotation

I recently discovered that you can listen to some of XM channel's on AOL Radio. This is VERY cool. I've been really enjoying the 90's channel (channel 9). However, before I go out and purchase an XM radio it feels like the rotation is a bit heavy? Is this the same with all XM channels?
______________

xm's playlists are very, very deep on all channels (except for say 20 on 20). [which is a good thing, sirius' tend to be too shallow at times]

Yeah, that's why I *LOVE* xm (I've got DIRECTV). I had SIRIUS earlier this year (mainly for Air America Radio; AAR left and I did too) but after several months, I began to notice just how repetitive their playlists are. It resembles the same tired tight rotation at FM stations across the country and it's sad. Satellite radio should not resemble regular radio and SIRIUS, music-wise, does. xm's music channels outclass SIRIUS's, no contest. Plus I'm a Ron & Fez fan going back to 1993, so it's nice to hear those guys again.
Edited by FilmCritic3000 on 11/29/05 03:08 AM.

I seem to see the same artists (Mariah Carey comes to mind) A LOT on 21, 22, and 23. Same songs over and over and over...

I have both Sirus and XM and I noticed the same thing you did about Sirus as well. That is why I prefer XM. Now if they could just get some Canadian music channels- we would be in business.

True. And sometimes an artist likes to follow you while you are channel browsing.. Big time offenders are Three Doors Down, U2 (*cringe), Coldplay....

Also, if you look at the full XM channel guide, you will notice that only their mass appeal streams are on AOL. XM differs from Sirius, not only in the depth of those channels, but also with the presence of their more eclectic channels.
______________
