Each week XM Radio's 60s on Six channel salutes a legendary AM Top 40 radio station, recreating the sound of the station with original jingles, air personalities, and local happenings - plus songs from the playlists of the era.
This Friday, 3pm to 8pm Central Time, XM recreates Todd Storz' "Seventy-Onederful" WHB, one of the first "rockers" and one which influenced the sound of other Top 40 stations around the country (including Gordon McClendon's Top 40 stations and ABC's Top 40 stations). Expect to hear original DJs and cuts from PAMS jingle packages.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that you don't need to be an XM subscriber to listen.

The show is available to DirecTV subscribers (channel 803) and at XM Radio Online (XM offers a three-day free trial of their online service).

Also available via AOL Radio:
Click on "Listen now." From the channel menu, select "Decades," then "XM 60s."
WinAmp users can also listen through AOL Radio: In the Media Library window, go to "AOL Radio with XM" and select "Decades" and then "XM 60s." (IMHO sound quality is better in WinAmp if you are not an AOL paid subscriber.)

XM 60s on 6 did WHB several months back and it was awsome. Where I went to college in Iowa, it was fairly common practice in the dorms to place a radio near a window or steel pipe, etc. to pull in a listenable signal on "71". Much preferred over the locals or even other out-of-towners like WLS.
