XM/SIRIUS DEMISE = LOCAL OPPORTUNITY?

This is an excerpt from Yahoo! tech guy Ben Patterson's most recent blog:

"I'm pretty sure we're looking at the end of Sirius XM as we know it. The best scenario for subscribers, I'm guessing, is a takeover by the well-funded EchoStar, which could probably keep the satellite radio service afloat without skipping a beat.

But bankruptcy … well, if that happens, prepare for Howard Stern to be replaced by Crazy Chuck, broadcasting live from his mobile home in West Sacramento."

Hey, Chuck....you paying attention, man? Grab your cans and fire up the generator - this could be your big break!! :D

If Mr. Malone and Uncle Mel come to an agreement its all over for echostar. All Uncle Mel needs is the money to pay the debt held by echostar and they have to go away. For now. Another big trance of debt is still held by echostar that is due later this year. I guess it all depends on how much Mr. Malone wants to invest in the SiriusXM company.
