XM Technical Assistance

Over the last few weeks, I have had a problem with many of my channels loading slowly or not loading at all on my Audiovox Express. Earlier this year there had been a problem with one of Xm's birds, so I assumed this was the same issue. After 2 weeks I called, talked to some guy in India or somewhere and was assured that the problem was not their bird. I then purchased another Audiovox and started to interchange parts, like Antenna, power cord, base cradle, etc to try to narrow the problem. I also wrote XM technical assistance. As usual, I have not received a response from XM. This is not the first time and I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem. Does anyone know of how, or who I need to contact to get some help from this outfit? I love their programming, but when you have a problem, help is hard to find. Also, if anyone out there experienced the same type of problem, I would appreciate hearing what was does to solve it. Thank you all in advance.

I have the same problem with my Audiovox, from what I can tell there is a chip loose or bad solder joint. Mine starts to fail when it gets hot, you might notice the Audiovox runs very hot. I have put mine in the freezer for an hour then plugged it back in for another couple hours of below AM sound quality XM is famous for.
As far as customer service is concerned XM gets an F, customer service is located in the Philippines, when I asked for a US based technician I was told there is none, when I asked for the e-mail address of the president of XM again I was denied. Best thing to do regarding customer is contact your congressman or woman and ask them for help. XM is all ears when it comes to hearing from your legislator.
The problem you are having is your Audiovox try contacting them for assistance

I have a first generation Audiovox in my car and have not had any problem. At home I have a Delphi XMskyfi2 and it works great.
But I will keep an eye out here when I need a new radio for my car whenever I buy a new car which will not happen for a while. I can't aggord the payments ;D

After trying several different things, I found out that the power cord was the problem. I know that doesn't make much sense, but after changing out all the components, antenna, base, etc, when I switched out the power cord the issue was GONE! And it has stayed gone. I have a first generation also, and love it. Didin't want to use a new "powered down version". Found one on sale for 35 bucks total and started changing componets. Fixed it. I'm a happy man.
