I've enjoyed XM for years. The variety is awesome.
Lately I've also been checking out Clear Channel's IHeartRadio, which also has a wide variety of music programming, and some talk channels. Though XM has music channels that offer formats not on IHeartRadio, and many more talk channels, the latter has no subscription fee. And the music channels on IHeartRadio seem quite well programmed, like on XM. As with satellite radio, many have on-air personalities. So far, most of these are commercial free, like XM. Naturally CC could also add additional channels.
As with XM, there is a comedy channel, and one that discusses political doings in Washington.
Many of the satellite radio channels go deeper musically, but lots of them are also focusing on the more popular songs. And does the majority of radio listeners really care about deep playlists?
I have read that some of the car manufacturers are incorporating IHeartRadio among other Internet streams into their new audio systems.
Do you think this, and maybe other offerings from big radio companies, will offer major competition to satellite radio for listening in vehicles?
