Listening to XM gives me satisfaction. I am not having any issues with quality.
I find the music channels excellent. The Talk networks a little sloppy. Not as sloppy as the 9-5-0. I was sad to find out that they outsourced the customer service overseas or it sounds like it.

I may go out and buy a sirius next and have the best of both.

Man I was listening to XM at Fry's the other day. Man I sure miss it. I should have bought a tuner cause they were only $20! Instead, I just got a pair of Polk MOMO 6x9s. I'll just have to get the tuner so I can rock them out to channels that don't repeat songs over and over.

Question: did you buy a tuner or a stereo reciever that was XM compattable?

The 950's sound is so flat and ugly I can't listen to it for more than about two seconds. Other than Phil Hendrie, I haven't found a single show on that station that I like.

Truth

I think that the merger between XM and Sirrius has been approved. So hold on a few months. I have sirrius and I love it, I'm sure XM is very simular. IT'S GREAT!!

I have the boombox with the car adaptor ready to be installed once I find a safe hidden place to install it in my car out of sight. I got the set up at Best Buy 207.87
15.32 a mo a 30.00 activation . I got the boombox because it has the antenna inside other home models it comes as a plug in that hampers moving it from room to room.

Truthfully I think it is over priced but it is a great product.

That's cute. Let's promote XM on the Houston boards, and so it fits in I'll bash KPRC for its sloppiness. Not that XM discussion on a local radio boards isn't sloppy posting or anything....

Not trying to step on anyone's toes...but c'mon. Beaumont discussion is one thing, this is entirely another.

Good Lord Man! How do you wake up every morning? I bet your the type of person that rides in the far left lane just to MAKE EVERYONE ELSE RUN THE SPEED LIMIT. Pull that corn cob out of your butt and live a little. There's more to life than worrying about whether some people posted in WHAT YOU THINK IS THE PROPER LOCATION cause god forbid if someone should post in the wrong place you'd think the world would end.

Hey Fred,

I don't know, Man. I kind of agree with purple. Just because XM is heard here doesn't mean by any means that a discussion about it belongs on the Houston board. Now, I can see it if we were talking about some of the fine folks from Houston radio who now work at XM, or if they were doing an "All Houston Artists" special or something, but just to talk about how great your new XM sounds, belongs on the XM discussion board, not here. And just so you'll know, I helped launch XM, have lots of friends there, and I still subscribe.

Oh, and I'm none too happy about all the space taken up by the Beaumont or the Victoria threads showing up here either. Conroe maybe, but other small markets oughta be talked about on the Texas Radio pages. Of course, I'm just a guest here, so my opinion is just that.....my opinion.

I'll say again why I dont have XM:

1.) SQ SUX
2.) CS SUX
3.) FM Sounds better even 84 miles from Houston! and free!

I am sorry for posting this on the Houston Board. It belongs elsewhere. I will use better judgement in the future.

Yes the 9-5-0- shot was a cheap one! Because the two media are a different animal.
There seems to be a certian sound with local radio vs. xm or sirius. I will pay for my radio listening to get more. I do like Hot , K-Hits and Jack alot though the music ilist needs to grow on each. Jack has a good lead in that department but they play the short versions of songs that have great LP versions. K-Hits list needs to grow beyond the 175 that seems to play over and over. Hot sounds great just a little to Urban for a Top 40.
