Any station that is doing the "Xmas music" now is just shooting it's self in the foot.The same old songs over & over.Can anyone name a xmas song that was made after Band Aids "Do they know it's xmas"? Just ANOTHER reason to get satellite radio system for xmas.Season greetings everyone.

It *might* be worth hearing *some* Christmas music now, but ONLY IF IT WASN'T THE SAME OLD CRAP OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
The Chipmunks actually did more Christmas music than "Christmas, Don't Be Late". I have a copy of them doing Sleigh Ride. Admittedly, it isn't a recording for the ages, but it beats the heck out of hearing the other one for the 1,876th time this year.
I have Tiny Tim singing "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer". Weird, but certainly not overplayed. And he does it (mostly) straight, though in his trademark falsetto.
I have a CD of Alvino Rey instrumentals, all familiar, and much more. Why do we only hear the same 250 recordings, or worse, new recordings of old songs by artists (no names, please) who try to sound like the original singers, and offer no new perspectives in their own performances.
It's the same problem we have outside of Christmas season - short playlists, and songs that are repeated ad nauseum. Properly done and creatively programmed, I think a part-Christmas format could have MAJOR "oh wow" potential, but 100% Christmas (unless it starts on Christmas eve) is overkill.

Since Sunny went all Christmas its been a breath of fresh air. They combine Standards, Rock, Country, Folk, West Coast, Motown, Soul, singers and non-vocals and many other areas of music that we seem to have forgotton about. To hear Dino and Andy, followed by the Royal Guardsman, Nat, Autry, Carpenters, Lennon, Ives, Frank, Luthur is just mind boggleing. Its just a shame it is just done on the holidays. If they incorporated this sound all year round with other than holiday tunes, it would sound fantastic. Yeh, I know the demos, advertiser friendly, female audiance and so on and so forth. On another note, the B cannot touch them holiday music wise.

Kudos to Ben though, who have demonstrated that, amazingly, it IS possible to blend holiday tunes with your regular format, without changing the laws of time and space.
