XMAS predictions

Hard to believe it's already November. The countdown is on to see which station will flip to Christmas music first. Who will it be? 101.7, 102.1, or 105.7? What do you all think?

95.5 FM "The Fish" and WDOK have been the go-to stations for Christmas music most recently. They may both start at close to the same time. This scenario leaves Clear Channel and Radio One without an all-Christmas station. If you'll recall, 106.5 FM was the first one to test the waters and go all-Christmas a decade or more ago.

105.7 will actually go all-Christmas. That leaves just Radio One without a seasonal station.

So it'll be 95.5 (Salem), 102.1 (CBS), and 105.7 (Clear Channel) to play the Holiday tunes in Cleveland. The question would be when they'll flip.

I remember Mix 106.5 going Xmas every year up until its flip to the Lake.

Does it matter when the herd of stations go holiday music?

Well, not for me...maybe for others.

Why? My MP3 player has over 2,000 songs on it.....that's all the music I need until January.

MIX 98.9 WMXY in Youngstown switched to all Christmas on Fri Nov 8th.

The Fan

Will play Christmas music during all shows starting next Week

WMJI flipped to all-Christmas today at Noon. It was also shown on WKYC's Live on Lakeside as well.

WDOK is still with their regular format as of this posting. They're gonna get crap for not flipping earlier by some listeners.

UPDATE: WDOK is now all-Christmas too! I guess Majic flipping got them on panic.

Speaking of DOK, they've officially named Jeremiah Widmer as the new full time PMD host.

If tradition holds true to form, 95.5 The Fish should be joining the Christmas music party very soon.

Not surprised with the new afternoon host being named on 102. He was pretty good filling-in and will do well on PM Drive.

The Fish will flip on Thanksgiving as mentioned in spots they've been running. That will be three stations in Cleveland with the seasonal format.

My favorite part of the whole Christmas music format every year is the people wringing their hands and complaining about the format change. I will never listen to your station again! Yeah OK. I am always amused at how Christmas music even one month a year bothers such a small minority of people. There are far more things to get bent out of shape about.
