XTRA SPORTS 1360: RATINGS

Am I the only one who thinks it is odd that XTRA went from no ratings 0.0 to .6 in the book? Since Hacksaw is gone I can't imagine anyone is listening to this sports train wreck at all. I know that Lee leaving was well before the book but everyone I know listens to Sirius, XM or KLAC. My question is HOW do you have a zero in the book? And then how do you have the kind of pop like they had? And does a major company like CC launch a station so poorly concieved as 1360 and then get rid of the highest profile person and the most compelling host? Can anyone pick up the station at night? Even in their parking lot that is pretty tough to do.

Huh? They had a 0.0 (meaning below a 0.4 roughly) in the book.

Sorry I reread the post and yes I mispoke. In the book XTRA had a 0.0 Then in the first trend a .5 followed next month by a .6. This folllowing 2 books of zero in a row. I am an untrained observer but that seems odd to me.

Actually, they may have had as much as a 0.4 and not made the book due to minimum reporting standards... let me check... yep, Spring they had a 0.4 but did not make the MRS requirements... they do show in Maximiser, though. So they are in the 0.4 to 0.6 range which statistically at that low level are equal numbers.

I think police radio has more listeners than that.

Dave Palet was let go that is now one less listener to the station. Interesting that Dan Patrick will be starting there soon. Giving up Hacksaw for Dan Patrick, that is no way to build on that mighty .6 they have. Why start messing with the morning show now?

Getting rid of Air America was a huge mistake. Bring it back I say. At least it was imformative and truthful

You bring up a great point! How much revenue do you think they lost in this election year by changing into being the third player in sports? The air of desparation is very thick at CC SD.

Well it seemed odd to me that the station seemed to spike up out of nowhere. 3 diaries!!!!!!! It would appear that there is a very distinct air of desperation over at CC SD. There is an old sayin that says "A fish stinks from the head" and I think that applies here. It seems like they may try to scapegoat someone but I don't think it ends there. If it does turn out that 3 diaries were bogus and they had a .6 that how bad must the real ratings be? Bueller,...... anyone? Well find out soon how dead this station really is.

Bring back Liberal Talk. Why would they dump it right before the election season kicked off? MSNBC has ratings gold with Olbermann/Maddow. This election is huge this year. Huge for ratings.

Olbermann ratings gold? No, O'Reilly has kicked his behind when they go head-to-head ( http://tvbythenumbers.com/category/ratings/top-news/cable-news/oreillyvsolbermann ). Olbermann was tops on MSNBC but Maddow's taken that crown and of course MSNBC, but network demoted Keith from its political anchor desk after the network finished dead last in the Nielsen rankings of all news coverage during the two weeks of political conventions. And he's beaten by his own creation on MSNBC (she's still way behind O'Reilly). So Keith is number two on number three (of the three cable news networks).
