Christmas music,

Then XtraSports 95.7 in 2009.

At least that was the plan. The original web site for Xtra Sports 1360 was obtained by Mike Costa.

At least that's the story; but remember don't drop any spare change at the Granite Ridge facility.

Let's see first they move it from 1360 to 95.7 then watch out John Lynch knowing Clear Channel they WILL get the Padres back. I'm glad to see that Clear Channel finally listened to my idea! Good job Bob!

Let's here it for Bob Bolinger the man that finally is gettting rid of Mike O'Brian!

I wonder if 91X might have something to say about that, since they are already "XETRA FM?" Is there Xtra room for 2 XTRA's on San Diegos FM? I've seen radio companies (CBS comes to mind) threaten leagal action in cases like this.

Just sayin...

XETRA-FM does not call itself "XTRA" so it seems highly unlikely they'd have any grounds for servicemark infringement.

Just writing that station monikers and call letters have nothing to do with promotion. XETRA-FM call letters are legendary. There is no basis for legal action on the call letters. You could make a case for LEGAL action if there was confusion on the moniker/promotion of XTRA Sports (insert moniker) and XETRA-FM 91.1. It's a stretch, counselor.

There was a Boston AM station, WXBR, which changed it's call letters to WBZB for a month 1996 before getting a nice little C & D from CBS, which owns WBZ AM/TV.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WXBR

However, I can not recall if they were going to use the WBZB call letters as a moniker, since the idea was to capitalize on being a Business News station, iirc. But that's what I was thinking of.

Your honor...

Just how legit is this rumor of moving XTRA Sports to 95.7? I've seen these boards fill up with pages of so-called facts about station flips only for them never to happen.

I'm wondering why CC would move a station that barely shows up in the books to a frequency that is doing... so-so at the moment. (2- share) There's so many other formats that could work on 95.7 that could be less of a risk.

My question is... Do we have an insider who is posting on here who knows for a FACT this is going to happen?

Not a problem. Good pull, Garrett.

GRadio has a very valid point especially since the address listed for the non-existant Sports company is a residence in Chula Vista......this rumor stinks!

So did the original URL for XtraSports1360.

Christi Lozier is soccer mom from the Eastlake area of Chula Vista and it seems unlikely she filed for this domain name for the Eastlake Little League (of which she is or was president). It is not uncommon for radio companies to file for domain names using shills. It has happened before in San Diego.

Bob, Chris,
Here's what I've found out about the info in the original post:
1. The company doesn't exist {not listed w/city of C.V. or S.D. or Natl City biz licenses or yellow pages or www search}
2. The house listed is in foreclosure/for sale
3. The owner listed is not Christi Lozier the soccer mom whoever she is.
4. Once again - this rumor stinks as much as the original poster who's obviously trying to sell the domain name to CC

Mark Costa at CC grabbed the original domain name for XTRA - he was already working for CC and still is at the sports station.
Let's check with him...........................

Thanks for the input. Christi Lozier can see the 95.7 tower from where she lives. I called the number and no answer; no answering machine. Good find on the foreclosure. Perhaps it is: buy the domain and get the house for FREE. It's an own personal bailout plan for the homeowner .....

Meanwhile, back to our regularly scheduled programming, already in progress .....

I found something on namedroppers and reported it because it was interesting. I guess I'm confused as to how this warrants a personal attack like the one you just fired off.
