Y 94.9 in Northwest Arkansas

Too bad Cumulus did not blow up Y-94.9 and do something different. They are a bad sounding radio station. They need to do something different to it. The ratings show it too.

They are advertising on All Access for a new morning show. I remember when it that frequency was southern gospel, they didn't do awful and consistently showed up in the Fort Smith book as well as the Northwest Arkansas.

If I was sitting in the big chair, I'd move KFAY-AM to the 98.3 frequency, and then flip 1030 to all sports. You would have probably a six share on FM, a 2 share on AM, and a nice combo sell for the business that wants to target the affluence of conservative Northwest Arkansas. You could take the attention that is being focused on Sam 98, and put that budget into US 94. That station does well pretty much left alone, but with more promotions and more personality, it would probably take a much bigger bite out of KIX.

I don't know how well KLRC does, but I would say there is probably money to be made off of a commercial CCM frequency (KLRC is technically non-comm), and 94.9 would be a perfect slot for that. They are all niches that can be filled.

Just thoughts... That is probably why I am not in the big chair!!!
